Starseed types refer to the different cosmic origins a soul may come from, such as Pleiadian, Arcturian, or Sirian lineages. Each starseed type is believed to carry unique traits, characteristics, and life purposes, which shape how individuals experience the world and their spiritual path. As a result, there is a growing curiosity—both in spiritual circles and increasingly in the mainstream—about starseeds and their origins. In this guide, you’ll therefore explore the different starseed types, their traits, and where they are believed to originate from, helping you better understand your own connection.
Let the cosmic journey begin.

What Are Starseed Types or Origins?
Starseed types refer to different categories of starseed origins, each associated with a specific star system or source. Common examples known throughout the starseed movement and beyond include Pleiadian, Arcturian, Sirian and Lyran starseeds. Moreover, each starseed type is described as having its own set of traits, characteristics, and patterns of behaviour. These include personality tendencies, emotional qualities, strengths, challenges, and ways of relating to life and others.
Therefore, having a well defined system of starseed types is critical to organise and explore these different origins and expressions of starseed identity. It provides a structured way of understanding the distinctions between the various starseed lineages and how they may be experienced.

List of Starseed Types and Their Origins
Core Starseed Lineages
This first category was named as such due to the abundance of information and available knowledge we have about them. These “Core Starseed Lineages” are also most commonly associated with the starseed movement, as well as being the most widely accepted in both spiritual and mainstream discussions. Lastly, I also believe they were the first starseeds to incarnate on Earth, and the ones we still feel most deeply connected to.
Pleiadian
Possibly the most well-known starseed lineage, the Pleiadians are thought to originate from the Pleiades star cluster located about 444 light-years away in the Taurus constellation. These starseeds are deeply connected to divine femininity (compared to the Orions who embody the divine masculine). They often incarnate on Earth as nurses, teachers and counsellors.
Arcturian
The Arcturus star system, approximately 37 light-years from Earth, contains the brightest star in the Boötes constellation. Many believe Arcturian starseeds come from this system, where their society flourished through logic, compassion, and multi-dimensional knowledge. These starseeds incarnate on Earth to serve as guides for planetary evolution, including protecting, upgrading and restructuring systems—energetically and socially.

Sirian
Sirian starseeds originate from the Sirius star system, located in the Canis Major constellation. Sirius A shines as a brilliant blue-white star linked to advanced civilisations, while Sirius B, a faint white dwarf, carries deep emotional frequencies. Sirians are believed to have influenced many ancient Earth cultures, including the Egyptians, Mayans, and Dogon. Interestingly, some now hypothesise the existence of a third star—Sirius C—home to semi-aquatic and aquatic starseeds connected to water-based consciousness.
Orion
These starseeds originate from the Orion constellation, notably from stars such as Betelgeuse, Rigel and the Orion Nebula. The Orion system has a long and complex galactic history, and many Orion starseeds carry deep soul memories of ancient galactic wars. Their roles in the galaxy are therefore dualistic—spiritualists and warriors, often appearing as truth-seekers and whistleblowers on Earth.
Andromedan
Andromedan starseeds originate from the Andromeda Galaxy—our closest galactic neighbour. They are high-frequency beings who exist across various dimensions, from the 3D physical to the 12D and beyond. Andromedan starseeds tend to reject hierarchical structures, and embody a peaceful, detached yet loving presentation when incarnated on Earth.

Lyran
Lyra is the constellation of origin for Lyran starseeds. Many regard this ancient star system as the cradle of human consciousness in the cosmos. Lyrans were among the first explorers and settlers in the galaxy, playing a pivotal role in the seeding of other star systems. These starseeds are bold, fiery and often associated with the divine masculine force of creation. Lyra is also home to other distinct starseed lineages such as Feline and Vegan starseeds.
Vegan
Vegan starseeds hail from the bright and prominent star Vega, located in the Lyra constellation. Vegans share a close energetic ancestral connection with both Lyran and Feline starseeds, also from the Lyran constellation, yet have different personalities, frequencies and soul missions. These starseeds value leadership and strength, reincarnating on Earth to realign planetary energies and facilitate the transformation of outdated systems.

Less Understood Starseed Lineages
I used the category “Less Understood Starseed Lineages” for starseed types and origins that appear in mainstream texts, but are not as widely recognised as the core lineages. I believe this next wave of identifiable starseeds is where we’ll receive the most information via channelling in the near future.
Draconian (Reptilian)
Draconian starseeds originate from the Draco constellation, specifically Alpha Draconis (Thuban). Many people misunderstand them due to the dual nature of their lineage—balancing service to self with service to others. As natural leaders and strategists, they aim to reclaim ancient power with integrity and guide others toward personal sovereignty.
Blue Avian
Blue Avians come from the 6th to 9th dimensions and often associate with the Arcturus star system. Unlike Arcturians, who originate from a specific planet, Blue Avians exist as interdimensional beings beyond any single planet or constellation. They appear as tall, bird-like humanoids adorned with blue feathers and glowing indigo eyes.
Feline (Lyran-Feline)
Feline starseeds trace their origins to Avon, a lush, advanced world in the Vega star system located in the Lyra constellatino. They are one of the oldest soul groups in our galaxy, playing a key role in the original Lyran colonisation efforts. Although all originating from the Lyra constellation, Lyran, Vegan and Feline starseeds represent different soul lineages, temperaments and missions.

Alpha Centaurian
The Alpha Centauri system is the closest star system to Earth, located just over 4.3 light-years away. It consists of multiple stars, including Alpha Centauri A and B, and Proxima Centauri—the nearest known star to the Sun. Its inhabitants, the Alpha Centaurians, are typically seen as our peaceful and diplomatic neighbours. While they are less interventionist than some star races, these starseeds have quietly supported Earth’s evolution with peace-orientated interventions.
Hadarian
Close to Alpha Centauri, Beta Centauri hosts the Hadarians and is also called the Hadar star system. Although fewer in number than Pleiadian or Sirian incarnates, these starseeds often reincarnate on Earth strategically at periods of great change. Hadarians are natural leaders and energetic defenders, using stabilising frequencies that repel chaos and distortion.
Maldek
Maldek starseeds (also known as Maldekians) originate from Maldek, a now-destroyed planet that once orbited the Sun between Mars and Jupiter—in the region currently known as the asteroid belt. Many texts say that Maldek’s people destroyed their planet through weaponised energy conflict (similar to nuclear war), or that it fell victim to larger cosmic warfare during the Orion conflicts. Its destruction sent millions of souls into karmic exile, many of whom later reincarnated on Earth.

Martian
Martian starseeds gained a reputation across the galaxy as engineers, tacticians, scientists, and master builders. Although they stand as Earth’s closest neighbouring starseed lineage, many accounts suggest that internal warfare, cosmic intervention, or environmental collapse destroyed their civilisation on Mars. These events forced many souls to evacuate—some reincarnated on Earth as ancient refugees, while others continued their existence in nonphysical dimensions.
Mintakan
Mintakan starseeds originate from Mintaka, one of the three stars in Orion’s Belt, located in the Orion constellation. An advanced, aquatic-based civilisation once thrived on this planet, but many now believe it no longer exists in its original form—either destroyed or shifted dimensionally. Unlike other Orion systems entangled in Galactic conflict, Mintaka remained neutral, with its starseeds serving as bridges between realms.
Grey (Zeta Reticulan)
In the galactic past, Grey starseeds (also known as Zeta Reticulans) played a controversial role as scientists and geneticists. They experimented with cloning, consciousness transfer, and hybridisation, sometimes causing ethical conflicts and tensions among star nations. They come from the Zeta Reticuli binary star system, a region often linked to the “greys”—the traditionally large-eyed, thin-bodied “alien” appearance.

Rare or Emerging Lineages
The third category of starseed types and origins were ones I hadn’t heard of before. I termed these “Rare or Emerging Lineages” to identify starseeds that appear consistently and had been channelled to several individuals, yet remain outside mainstream knowledge. I believe these lineages represent the future direction of starseed channelling in the next decade or two.
Cassiopeian
Cassiopeian starseeds originate from the Cassiopeia constellation—a region rich with advanced civilisations whose souls have strong telepathic abilities.
Antarian
These starseeds come from the Antares star system in the Scorpius constellation. Antares, a massive red supergiant star, radiates energy that inspires the strong spiritual wisdom and warrior spirit of the Antarians.
Procyonian
Procyonians have historically been emissaries and healers, working across galaxies to foster peace. These starseeds originate from the Procyon star system, located in the constellation Canis Minor. Procyon is one of the brightest stars visible from Earth.
Capellan
Capella starseeds originate from the Capella star system in the Auriga constellation. This bright, golden star inspires its starseeds to serve as trailblazers and pioneers.

Electran / Alcyonean
Electran starseeds, often closely linked or overlapping with Alcyonean starseeds, originate from the Alcyone system—the brightest star in the Pleiades cluster. Many consider them a sub-group of Pleiadian starseeds, with this lineage carrying a purer, more concentrated vibrational frequency from that region.
Altairian
Altarian starseeds trace their lineage to the Altair star system. Located in the constellation Aquila, Altair is a bright, fast-rotating star known for its strong-willed, disciplined beings.
Tau Cetian
The Tau Ceti star system, located about 12 light-years away in the constellation Cetus is home to the Tau Cetian starseeds. They embody resilience, adaptability, and healing energies, often focusing on bioenergetics and environmental stewardship. These starseeds actively work to help Earth restore ecological balance and promote sustainable living.

Denebian
Denebian starseeds come from the Deneb star system. Deneb, a massive blue-white supergiant, shines as the brightest star in the Cygnus constellation, also called the “Tail of the Swan.” Denebians radiate expansive, regal energy and maintain a deep connection to higher-dimensional realms and inter-dimensional travel.
Ophiuchan
In galactic history, Ophiuchans have acted as healers, shamans and spiritual alchemists—assisting civilisations in navigating the cycles of destruction and rebirth. They originate from the Ophiuchus constellation, often called the “Serpent Bearer”. Isn’t it interesting how a starseed connected to healing also carries the snake as a symbol—a classic emblem of medicine?
Polarian
Polarian starseeds come from the Polaris star system, known as the “North Star.” Polaris, located in the Ursa Minor constellation, serves as a guiding star for navigation on Earth and holds symbolic significance in many ancient cultures. Similarly, Polarians act as guides, navigators, and societal stabilisers.
(Note: Polarian in some texts also refers to a possible earliest starseed lineage on Earth, also know as the first “root race”. As their consciousness transferred from the ethereal to the physical planes, they are thought to have eventually given way to Hyperboreans, then Lemurians and now humans as we know them).

Energetic, Angelic & Soul Frequency-Based Starseeds
The world of starseeds is certainly full of surprises. Until writing this article, I was sure that starseeds by definition were souls that had incarnated on one world from another. However, in a universe with infinite possibilities, why wouldn’t we consider “another world” to also mean time, energy, soul frequencies? I’ve therefore used this category for starseeds that are not traditionally associated with a location.
Indigo
Indigo starseeds incarnated on Earth in large numbers between the 1970s and 1990s, with some arriving even earlier. They appeared during a period of societal stagnation and acted as system busters, rebels, and energetic protectors. Indigos helped lay the groundwork for future generations and contributed to many of the modern freedoms we enjoy in the 21st century.
Crystal
Following the Indigo wave, Crystal starseeds incarnated primarily during the 1990s and 2000s. While Indigos dismantled outdated systems, Crystals arrived to soothe, heal, and initiate rebuilding. They often connect with angelic realms, Andromedan energies, and higher-dimensional Lyran or Arcturian soul groups. (Note: 90s babies this is us—the best decade to be born IMO!)

Rainbow
Rainbow starseeds are the newest wave of incarnations, often arriving after 2000. Many believe these souls carry little to no past-life karma on Earth, making them pure in essence (hello Gen Z!). Rainbows carry a unity consciousness and a joyful, unshakable optimism. They are here to embody the frequency of the New Earth, and remind humanity of its true potential.
Blue Ray
Blue Ray starseeds originate from the blue frequency of divine communication and transformation. Many link them to Sirius, the Andromedan system, and higher-dimensional Pleiadian collectives. They predate the Indigo wave by incarnating between the 1950s and 1970s, as well as often choosing to remain hidden and blend in.
Golden Ray/Golden Child
Golden Rays incarnated in smaller waves throughout galactic history, often during periods of major planetary transition or grid rebalancing. They originate from central galactic realms like the Great Central Sun and connect directly to Source energy or unified divine masculine-feminine energy. Golden Ray starseeds emanate pure Source light and often incarnate after extensive soul development across multiple dimensions.

Angelic
Angelic starseeds originate from non-planetary, higher-dimensional realms—specifically the angelic planes or celestial dimensions beyond the 5th dimension. Instead of linking to star systems like Sirius or the Pleiades, they connect to spiritual hierarchies such as the Seraphim, Archangels, or Guardian Orders.
Dragon
Dragon starseeds (distinct from Draconian/Reptilian starseeds) originate from ancient, high-dimensional realms within the multiverse or celestial dimensions. While some lineages trace back to Lyra, Andromeda, or the Draco constellation, Dragon beings do not belong to a single star system and have existed long before most galactic civilisations. Throughout galactic history, they have served as guardians of star-gates and embodied elemental forces like fire, air, and ether.

Walk-Ins
Walk-In starseeds define themselves not by origin but by their unique arrival method. Specifically, unlike typical incarnations, Walk-Ins enter a human body partway through life, often after a near-death experience, trauma, or spiritual awakening. The original soul willingly steps aside, having completed its karmic contract, and allows a more advanced soul to take over.
Elemental
Elemental starseeds serve as guardians and healers of the planet’s ecosystems. They often assist with environmental healing, climate restoration, and energetic cleansing. Historically, myths and legends have linked these beings to nature spirits and forest guardians.
Empathetic
Rather than defining them by a specific star system, empathy and sensitivity mark the origin of Empathetic starseeds. These souls often come from highly evolved, compassionate star systems like the Pleiades and Andromeda, or even from angelic realms.

Earth-Based but Star-Seeded Civilisations
This category is for another group of starseeds I hadn’t considered. The concept of starseeds defines could travelling or incarnating from one star system to another. What we often forget—myself included— is that Earth itself orbits a star within a solar system. By that logic, Earth would have its own unique starseed lineages i.e. “Earth-Based by Star-Seeded”.
Lemurian
Lemurian starseeds originate from the ancient continent of Lemuria, a spiritually advanced civilisation that flourished on Earth thousands of years ago. Known as some of humanity’s earliest healers and wisdom keepers, they played a key role in maintaining Earth’s energetic grids. While rooted on Earth, many teachings link them to star systems like the Pleiades and Orion, suggesting a hybrid lineage blending terrestrial wisdom with extraterrestrial energy.
Atlantean
Similarly to the Lemurians, Atlantean starseeds trace their roots to the legendary Atlantis. This Earth-based civilisation is also said to have existed thousands of years ago, and was first noted in the works of the Ancient Greek philosopher Plato. Unlike Lemurians, however, many Atlanteans were not originally from Earth. They were thought to be star travellers often connected to Arcturus, Sirius or Orion.
Moreover, whilst the Lemurian civilisation ended due to a peaceful dissolution, the fall of Atlantis is associated with misuse of power. As a result, many Atlantean souls carry a karmic memory or mission to restore harmony.

Agarthan/Inner Earth
Agarthans form another Earth-based starseed population, dwelling within the Hollow Earth or deep subterranean realms. Ancient Tibetan, Hindu, and esoteric traditions describe Agartha as a utopian society guided by peace, wisdom, and spiritual advancement. Unlike Lemuria and Atlantis, this civilisation continues to thrive today.
Mu/Kumari Lineage
Mu/Kumari starseeds guard ancient Earth wisdom and sacred feminine teachings—what modern humans often call “Mother Nature.” They originate from the ancient, legendary continent of Mu, believed to have existed in the Pacific Ocean before cataclysmic events submerged it.
Hyperborean Lineage
Hyperborean starseeds originate from the legendary land of Hyperborea—a mythical Arctic civilisation described in ancient Greek texts and esoteric lore. They guard sacred knowledge about the cycles of light and dark, seasonal rhythms, warmth and cold, embodying the balance between opposites.

Unlisted/Outer Edge Starseed Types and Origins
Lastly, the final group of starseed types I named unlisted/outer edge as they didn’t quite resonate with me. They appeared only once or twice in texts, and often from a single channeller, making their validity harder to assess. Nonetheless, I came to see that unfamiliarity doesn’t equal falsehood. Some of these lineages may have played a role in Earth’s distant past, or exist so far across space and time that we only perceive faint echoes. I decided to therefore include them—even if only as a point of curiosity.
Nibiruans
Nibiruan starseeds originate from Nibiru, a hypothetical planet with an elongated orbit that enters our solar system roughly every 3,600 years. Author Zecharia Sitchin popularised the idea that Nibiru houses the Anunnaki, an influential extraterrestrial race that interacted with early human civilisations. Some sources also describe Nibiruans as inter-dimensional beings who, originally, lived in the third dimension and now exist in higher states of consciousness.
Anunnaki
The Anunnaki come from ancient Sumerian, Akkadian, Assyrian, and Babylonian mythologies. In fact, their name roughly translated means “those who from heaven to earth came.” Many suggest they originated from the planet Nibiru, arriving on Earth to mine resources and influence early human DNA and civilization. Their legacy remains mixed, seen by some as benevolent teachers and by others as authoritarian rulers.

Taurians
Taurian starseeds come from Aldebaran, the bright red giant in the Taurus constellation. They acted as ancient protectors who helped stabilise Earth’s energetic grids during past cosmic upheavals.
Sirius C Beings
These starseeds originate from Sirius C—a hypothesised companion star in the Sirius system alongside Sirius A and B. Beings from Sirius C often appear as aquatic or semi-aquatic and connect to water-based consciousness. Some teachings say they helped balance Earth’s energetic water systems, including its ley lines.
Eridanian
Eridanian starseeds symbolise flowing water and cosmic rivers. They originate from the Eridanus constellation, which the legendary astronomer Ptolemy named “The River” due to its vast north-to-south span in the night sky.

Sagittarian
Sagittarian starseeds come from the well-known Sagittarius constellation. Some sources specifically link their origin to the Galactic Centre near Sagittarius A—a supermassive black hole often seen as a gateway to higher dimensions and consciousness. They embody a traveler’s spirit and may have inspired humanity to explore spirituality beyond primitive beliefs and systems.
Vulpeculan
Vulpeculan starseeds come from the Vulpecula constellation, a small and faint grouping in the northern sky named “little fox.” They embody cleverness and adaptability, valuing wit and creative problem-solving.
Aragothian
Aragothian starseeds serve as warriors and protectors of Earth and other worlds. They originate from the channelled star system Aragoth, which mainstream astronomy does not recognise as yet. Often portrayed as galactic guardians, Aragothians exist between dimensions or within hidden realms.

Hybrid
Hybrid starseeds originate from two or more star systems or lineages, blending traits from multiple ancestries. They play a vital role as bridge builders between different star systems and consciousnesses. Lemurians represent some of the original hybrid starseeds.
Timewalker
Timewalker starseeds transcend any single star system, traveling through past, present, and future dimensions. They serve as keepers of cosmic history, therefore actively correcting distortions in time and energy, and assisting in the healing of karmic loops on both personal and planetary scales.
Void
As their name suggests, Void starseeds originate from the “void”—the empty space between galaxies. This lineage includes beings who exist beyond conventional space-time. They often connect with black holes, dark matter, and the primordial emptiness that precedes creation.

How to Identify Your Starseed Type
Identifying your starseed type is often less about external confirmation and more about recognising patterns in your inner experience, personality, and sense of connection to certain star systems or lineages.
Many people begin to notice their starseed type through recurring traits, emotional tendencies, or a strong sense of resonance with a particular lineage such as the Pleiadians, Arcturians, Lyrans, or any other starseed type. Furthermore, this resonance can show up as curiosity, familiarity, or a feeling of recognition when learning about a specific starseed type.
Common indicators you may resonate with a starseed type include:
- A strong emotional or intuitive connection to a specific star system or starseed group
- Repeating personality traits that align with one particular starseed type
- Life themes or challenges that mirror the descriptions of certain starseed origins
- A sense of “recognition” when reading about one or more specific starseed lineages
Lastly, it is important to note that there is no fixed method for determining your starseed origin. Instead, it is something usually understood through reflection, self-observation, and noticing when you feel the strongest sense of alignment or clarity.

FAQ: Starseed Types and Origins
Can someone be connected to multiple starseed types and origins?
Yes, many people resonate with more than one starseed type. This is often understood as having influences from multiple star systems or carrying a blend of traits from different lineages. It is common for individuals to feel connected to several starseed origins rather than just one.
Are starseed lineages hereditary or passed down through family lines?
Starseed types are not based on genetics or inheritance. However, people within the same family may share similar personality patterns or energetic tendencies, which can make certain traits appear familiar or repeated across generations.
How do I know if I’m a new soul or an old soul among starseeds?
This is typically understood through self-reflection and personal resonance rather than fixed criteria. Newer starseeds may experience stronger feelings of disorientation or adjustment in human life, while more experienced starseeds often feel a clearer sense of purpose or recognition of their path. Inner reflection, meditation, and observation of life patterns are commonly used to explore this.
Can someone stop being a starseed or lose their connection?
No, a starseed connection is considered an inherent aspect of identity. However, awareness of this connection can fluctuate over time depending on life experiences, environment, and personal development.
Do starseeds have specific physical traits or marks?
No. Although there can be certain trends, there are no consistent physical traits or markings associated with starseed types. Identification is generally based on personality patterns, inner resonance, life themes, and intuitive recognition rather than physical appearance.

Cosmic Closure
Overall, I found this article on starseed types and origins both challenging and deeply inspiring to write. When I first began my research, I expected to cover just 10–15 lineages—so I was amazed to discover over fifty! Thankfully, we live in a time where so much information is available, and I feel incredibly blessed by that. Looking ahead, I’m excited to see what more we uncover about starseed types and origins through our channellers and spiritual communities. I truly hope you enjoyed this deep dive into our galactic history as much as I did.
